Formosa Oolong is a darker style Oolong tea from Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa (which means 'beautiful', given by the Portuguese explorers of the island).
Taiwan produces some of the smoothest, sweetest and subtlest oolong teas, traditionally brewed by Buddhist monks at the end of the day.
It is worth noting that in Taiwan, the making of Oolong tea is regarded as a precious art that requires years of training.
This highly prized Taiwanese Formosa Tea has been skilfully semi-oxidised to bring forth its characteristic roasted flavour and delicate aroma.
